Hello coaches!
I am a 5'8" class of 2024 graduate. I mainly play setter, but I also do some right side hitting. I am from Westport, Massachusetts, and I attend Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. My GPA is currently a 3.49, and I am working hard to balance academics and athletics. Sadly, my freshman year season was affected by COVID, but I still worked hard on the court and earned a varsity letter. My performance during my sophomore year (2021 season) earned me the title of EIL Honorable Mention, and we as a team won the title of EIL Champions. My performance during my junior year (2022 season) earned me the title of NEPSAC All-New England and I got selected for the All-New England First Team, and we as a team made it to both the EIL and NEPSAC championship matches. This year, I was elected captain, and I led my team to the semi-final rounds of the EIL and NEPSAC tournaments, and my hard work earned me the title of All-EIL.
I have been a starter and key player on both my club and my school teams since I joined them. I also play varsity tennis, and I have been on varsity all 3 years that I have participated, and I am a captain-elect for the upcoming tennis season. I was one of the two captains on the 17U club team and the only captain on this year's 18U club team at Surge Volleyball Club RI, which is based in Aquidneck Island. I have been with the club since its founding in 2019. I was the only 8th grader in the entire program of high-schoolers, but regardless, I thrived. Additionally, I spoke at the Town Hall meeting at which the club's request to install sand courts in a local park was approved. In the winter, spring, and summer, I coach kids in grades 6-12 in grass and indoor volleyball through Surge, and I have been doing this for 3 years. Over the last 3 summers, I have played in various beach leagues almost every night, and I have taken home quite a few titles from those. Additionally, during this past summer I took on an administrative position within my club's beach volleyball program, which included running clinics and leagues, as well as continuing in my coaching position and playing in leagues. I prefer playing on the right side of the beach court, but I am versatile and can adapt to any positioning and weather conditions.
My beach league titles include:
2021:
High School A 1st Place
2022:
Women's A 2nd place
High School A 1st place
Women's A 1st place
2023:
Women's A semifinalist
High School A 1st place
Women's A/College 1st place
High School A 1st place
A fun fact about me is that I am an international free throw champion, and a big element of being able to achieve such a title is my ability to perform well under pressure.
I am looking for a family on the court, and rigor in the classroom. I am interested in potentially majoring in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Kinesiology/Exercise Science. Attached are a snapshot of my 2022 school season stats and links to my Hudl and a video with some of my highlights from this past school season and the current club season.
