My name is Abigail Pinchin. I live in Chilliwack, BC, Canada. My grad year is 2022. I graduated from Briercrest Christian Academy in Caronport, Saskatchewan. I was 9 years old when I first started playing volleyball. I was approached in grade 5 by the senior varsity team coach and told that I have a future with the sport. I immediately started playing. By grade 7, I was a starter on my senior varsity high school team.
In my household, we have always taken athletics very seriously. The training is consistent. I prepare for my current and future seasons year round but take breaks as my body tells me to. I believe it is important to take care of yourself not only during a volleyball season, but during off season as well, in order to reach the highest potential of my performance
As a responsive athlete, it is important to take any advice given to me by coaches, mentors and peers/teammates and put it to work by applying it to my play. As not only an athlete but as human, taking advice is extremely beneficial to learning and improving how something can be done on and off the court or in our personal lives.
The goals that I have set for myself push me to be the best athlete and teammates that I can be. I am inspired by the hard work of others around me. I will always continue to push myself and set new goals.
