Leadership, responsibility, and hard work have never been a problem for me. Throughout my school career I have always received various leadership awards. Also, as the oldest in my family, that includes my younger brother who is on the autism spectrum, I have maintained a level of responsibility that often surpasses my peers.
However, when I began playing volleyball in 6th grade I realized what it meant to not only be a leader, but a good teammate, on an off the volleyball court. Volleyball was the first sport I ever showed any interest in and I am amazed at how becoming part of a team has influenced other areas of my life. Volleyball has taught me perseverance and with each season that I play I want to become the best that I can be.
Although volleyball is a huge part of my life, I have also always been very focused on what I want to do academically. Ultimately, my goal is to be the class Valedictorian in 2025 when I graduate. I feel very fortunate that I have managed to keep good grades during my school career, and want to continue to do so. I am definitely looking for a college that would be a perfect fit for me both academically, and athletically.
I know I am young, and these are the early stages for me during this process, however, I know I will someday make an excellent student athlete in your program.
