Colette Romp Personal Statement
Attitude and Effort … These are two traits that I control with everything I do. Wether academic, athletic, family or individual events …. outcomes are impacted by how I approach each day with a positive attitude and passionate effort.
Attitude: A positive focus during practice is an attitude that has always allowed me to learn, continue to strive and ultimately make an impact on the court. I am determined to challenge myself to preform to the highest standard and push myself. While a fun and personable individual, I have a winning/focused direction on the court both in practices and tournaments to better my team, my club and myself! I have total respect for my coaches and teammates as we share a common goals of winning and living as model athletes. My effort to have a positive attitude impacts me on the court, in the classroom and in life.
Efforts: I am my hardest critic at times and that is because I want to have my efforts result in winning outcomes for my teams, coaches and me. This past year I was awarded the Mauldin “Mavs” award. This award recognized a player's passion for the the game and efforts on and off the court to become the best they can be and make the team the best we can be. With so many other outstanding teammates, I was honored as a Freshman to receive such an award for my hard work and efforts. I give as much passion and heart into my athletics that I do into my academics as I am on the honor roll taking many honors classes this Freshman year.
Volleyball affords the opportunity to create memories and skills for a lifetime. Building friendships, competitive experiences, and constantly learnings are events which will continue to benefit me in life. Playing for a college team that has the same passion for a winning attitude and great individual/team efforts is what I am looking for. I have a big responsibility to my team, my coaches, my club; and I look forward continuing those opportunities as I look to the future continuing my education in college and making an impact to a future college volleyball program.
