Cailyn Ashline '28 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I’m Cailyn Ashline, a proud member of Apex Volleyball Club’s 15-2 Girls team and Fort Dorchester High School’s JV Girls Volleyball Team. My volleyball journey has been shaped by incredible coaches like Carrie Yohe, whose philosophy of coaching the whole person inspires me every day. Coach Carrie brings decades of experience, both as a standout college player and a mentor, and her belief that sports teach life skills resonates deeply with me. She’s instilled in me the importance of learning, teamwork, and dedication on and off the court.

I’ve played as an opposite, right-side, and outside hitter, but I’m proud of my versatility and willingness to step into any position for the good of the team. My coaches often describe me as coachable, fiercely competitive, and a positive presence—whether I’m playing or cheering on my teammates from the sidelines. I’ve been fortunate to learn and grow through Apex, school teams, and volleyball camps, where I’ve developed not just skills but a lifelong passion for the sport.

Off the court, I’m equally dedicated to my academics and personal growth. As an honors student, I’m taking accelerated and college-level courses while maintaining active memberships in the National Honor Society and Beta Club. Balancing the demands of sports and academics has taught me the value of discipline and hard work—qualities I carry into every aspect of my life.

Looking ahead, I’m passionate about a career in the medical field. My dream is to work with children as a NICU nurse or pediatrician, using my nurturing nature to make a difference. Known as “a mama at heart,” I strive to approach life with kindness and respect, whether I’m helping others or setting an example on the court.

Volleyball has shaped me into a versatile, teachable, and wholehearted player who values team success above all else. Thanks to incredible mentors like Coach Carrie and the opportunities provided by Apex Volleyball Club, I’m excited to continue growing as both an athlete and a leader.
