I am a 5' 9" setter from Dakota Dunes, SD. First and foremost, I want to say that the best compliment that I hear on a regular basis is that when I am on the court, I play much bigger than I am, so don't let my size fool you!
My high school team (Dakota Valley High School) currently has a 12-2 record and is ranked #2 in the state of South Dakota.
This past summer I tried out for and earned a spot on the USA HP Junior A1 team. We competed at the USA High Performance National Championships in Tulsa, OK and won a Gold Medal with an exciting win against Puerto Rico in the championship match.
My 2014 Club Team (MVP 18 Rick "Top Gun") won the American division of the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier Tournament and in doing so qualified for the 2014 USA Junior National Tournament where we finished 13th overall.
My high school team (Dakota Valley) finished our 2013 season with an 27-3 record (as of 11/12/13). We won the Class A South Dakota State Tournament by defeating Sisseton, Sioux Fall Christian and Winner! I was named to the All Tournament team for the second year in a row. For my junior season, I have 1035 assists (10.9 assists/set), 102 kills(1.2/set), 56 blocks(1.6/match) and 117 ace serves (1.3/set). I was named MaxPrep's South Dakota Athlete of the week for the last week of October and the second week in November. I was named the DAK 12 Conference and South Dakota Region 4's Most Valuable Player for 2013 and was named 2nd Team All State. I was voted Most Outstanding Player by my varsity team members for the 2013 season.
In 2012, as a sophomore, I led my high school team to a SD Class A State Runner Up finish breaking the high school record for assists and leading the team in ace serves along the way. I was awarded All-Conference, All Region and All State Honors and was the only sophomore on the All Tournament team in 2012. I was voted Most Outstanding Player by my varsity team members in 2012 and recognized on prepvolleyball.com's Sophomore 79.
I have 5 years of club volleyball experience with Midwest Volleyball Power. I have played up an age division the past two years and competed in 3 National Tournaments. In April of 2013, my 17's team won the Kansas City National Qualifier Tournament qualifying us for the 2013 USA Junior National Tournament in Dallas, Texas. We finished 13th at the National Tournament.
In 2012 I tried out for and was invited to attend the USA Volleyball High Performance Developmental Camp in Las Vegas, NV. In 2013 I tried out for and was selected for the USA High Performance Continental Team. My USA team finished 6th out of 24 teams in the Youth National Division.
Academics are also very important to me. I have a 4.0 grade point average. I am still deciding on my field of study in college. I am a hard worker both in the classroom and on the court. I LOVE the game of volleyball and I want to continue to play competitively in college (and beyond)!
