Volleyball has always had a special place in my heart ever since I began playing at a young age. How exciting to think that little 3rd grade fall rec league player could be playing collegiately one day!
I have proven that I am self-motivated and a hard worker, with both a 4.35 GPA and numerous volleyball tournament wins under my belt. Throughout my volleyball career, in both school and club, I have played every position and am typically a 6 rotation player. As a player, I am known for my consistency and versatility. My last coach says that he can count on me to "always take care of the ball". I am a utility player, but I love the outside hitter position. Not only is it aggressive, but there is a strong mental aspect as well - seeing the other team's defense and then placing the ball.
Of course, the most important aspect of my college career is to pursue a nursing degree. I want to help people and save lives. My desire to become a nurse sprouted from working with people. Since volleyball is a team sport, I believe that it helps further benefit that career goal.
One other note, I am very involved in my church. I am a Student Leader, which means that I lead a group of high school students on Sunday morning. I have participated in multiple mission trips and led VBS preschool. I believe my strong relationship with the Lord makes me a stable and mentally tough player.
All in all, I can't wait to see what the future holds.
