I started playing volleyball my 8th grade year. I had recently stopped competitive gymnastics and needed something that allowed me to compete. My family always plays at our house so I thought that might give me the competitive edge that I was missing so much. I made the team and from the minute I stepped on the court, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue in my life. Being on the volleyball court, no matter what position, always puts a smile on my face. Being able to play with girls who have the same passion is honestly a blessing. I am a very competitive person. I am proud of being a leader on the court. I not only want to be the best, but I also want my teammates to reach their full potential. I will push myself until my body can’t go anymore, and I train harder than most of the girls at my age. I think conditioning is just as important as getting a ball in your hands. If your out of shape then how are you supposed to keep going in a game, so I focus a lot on staying fit and making sure my body is in good shape. I want to know if something is wrong with my passing, footwork, hits, and angles as soon as someone notices it so that I can fix it and become a better athlete. Volleyball is my out… if I’m having a bad day, I’m upset, or mad, volleyball allows me to leave it all on the court.
