Volleyball helped me develop into the person I am today. My love for the game started in 6th grade. Volleyball gives me a sense of belonging that I don't experience anywhere else. If I am having a bad day or just need a break from the day-to-day routine, I always know that when I step on the volleyball court, I am free to be me. In the beginning of my volleyball career, I was taught a very important lesson--LEAVE IT ALL ON THE COURT! Since then, I've been determined to work hard, learn more about the game, and continually improve my volleyball skills and knowledge. From dissecting the opponent's game to helping teammates stay out of their head and to execute, I've grown to be a leader who loves the game and inspires my peers to do the same.
Just as volleyball is a team sport, I see life the same way. Whether on the volleyball court, in the classroom, or in my community, I strive for exceptional performance. Outside of volleyball, I enjoy reading, listening to music, baking, and watching Criminal Minds / Law & Order, babysitting, and tutoring. I've always had a passion for helping others.
As my high school journey comes to an end, this Commercial Appeal All-Metro First Team "Player of the Year" nominee is thrilled about the prospect of playing at the next level, while pursuing my education to become a Pediatrician. Volleyball taught me many life lessons--time management, organization, hard work, commitment, and overcoming adversity. I have no doubt, these foundational skills will continue to help me excel in this next phase of volleyball and academics--at the college level. Ultimately, an established Pediatrician who uses stories from my glory days as a volleyball player to relate and encourage youth to be active while pursuing their own dreams.
