NANCY WARD '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Nancy Ward, I have played volleyball for three years as a Middle Blocker/Hitter.  My love for volleyball started in the 7^th grade on my school team.  Although I started in ballet and tap and played basketball as well, I immediately fell in love with volleyball.  Last year I played middle blocker on the Varsity Team, we won the State Championship (TN) in the TSAA II Division. I received the 2023 Coaches Award.  I started club volleyball three years ago as well, i just finished my club season on 15 Elite Black with Memphis Metro Volleyball Club.  I was selected to the 2024 JVA Watchlist.

When I am not playing volleyball, I enjoy playing basketball with friends and family.  I am also a lover of music, I play three instruments to include the tuba, piano and violin.  Art is another passion of mine, where I have received honors and awards for my artwork. 

I like to learn new things and take on new opportunities for growth.  My family places an emphasis on education, so I dedicate the same drive to my studies as I do to the game of volleyball.  While I have not settled on a particular university, I have grown up an SEC fan and am a little partial to SEC schools.  But I like the ocean as well, so I am open to wherever volleyball takes me.  I know I want to play D1 volleyball, but I am not opposed to any quality school that offers an opportunity to play at that level.  My top priority is my education, so the school I ultimately choose will come down to the academics and the opportunity to pursue the degree I finally decide on.
