I am a 5'5 senior. I started playing volleyball when I was in fifth grade. I had never played before and I did not know anything about the sport. When the flyers went out that our school was going to start a volleyball team, I told my mom I wanted to play. The coaches had me playing varsity from the very beginning. My sixth grade year, they put me varsity libero, but I played all positions in the junior high games. The coaches that I had bickered a lot and the head coach, we found out later, had never even played before. After two years of learning wrong techniques and basic volleyball skills, the coaches left and the job fell into my mom's lap. Ever since my seventh grade year, we had to tear down everything we had started the last two years, because it was all wrong things, and rebuild our team. Coach took out the libero position because we got in trouble for not doing the libero paper correctly. She taught everyone every position so that everyone can feel comfortable in every position. Because of this tactic, I can play all positions. Last year, my ninth grade year we got silver at state in our district. That was such an accomplishment for my team because we had been through so much as a team to start a team, keep a team , and rebuild our team.
