Hi my name is Karrington Kays and I want people ( Coaches, teammates, classmates, neighbors) to know I am so much more than just a Volleyball player. I am a person that loves giving back and helping others. I love going with the church in the summer helping repair houses for the elderly. I love volunteering at Boys & Girls Country Houston on the holidays with the people that have no family to visit. I love collecting and donating blankets for the homeless in the winter that have no warm bed to lay in. I started a blanket drive for the homeless 5 years ago for my birthday and have donated over 675 blankets so far. I also am an officer with the NCL (National Charity League) and we do a lot of work through out our community. I want to be a person that leaves a footprint in this world.
I love Volleyball! I love winning! I love being a great teammate and I love learning along the way.
I have been playing Volleyball since I was 6 years old. I play Club at Houston Skyline where I played RS on 17 Black team in the Open Division. I made Varsity as a high school freshman and was the only Freshman to make All District & Academic All District. I also set 3 school records, was named to Prepvolleyball top 59 FROSH team and made the USAV team summer 2019.
My Sophomore season and we had a great year in Volleyball going 43-4 overall and 16-0 winning the 14-6A District Championship. I was blessed to have great teammates and made 1st team All District again and finished hitting 45.7% and .308%. I was also on the Phenom list this year and on Prepvolleyball's SOPH 79 list.
My Junior Season we went 23-1 overall and 13-1 winning the 14-6A District Championship. I was blessed to make 1st team All District again and currently have 525 Kills, 225 Blocks and .345 Hitting % since being in High School playing MB.
I play club volleyball at Houston Skyline where I play OH/RS/MB.
I am looking for a college that challenges me academically( I Currently have a 6.3 GPA in H.S) as well as athletically. I was blessed to be accepted into the National Honor Society this year. I WILL earn my degree and be a Student- Athlete. That means you work as hard in the classroom as you do on the court. I feel like Volleyball was a gift God gave to me to use to touch people and open other doors in life. Thank you for thanking the time to read this and learn about me.
Sincerely,
Karrington Kays
