Makinze Spivey '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Makinze Spivey, I am a setter and 3-year letterman at Deer Park High school, class of 2021.

I attended elementary overseas while I lived in Saudi Arabia for that part of my life. When I moved back to the US, I told my family I wanted to get into volleyball.  There the passion for the game begins, I began to take private lessons to get the reps in because I was already behind most girls my age trying out. Hard work, dedication, and the will to compete got me where I am today and have grown to love the game more and more as the seasons I play.  I have been playing competitive volleyball ever since, I started off as a DS and now a setter.

I love the game of volleyball and I am a very competitive person on and off the court and I am always one of the loudest girls in the room.  My goals after high school is to continue my volleyball career on the court and play another four years. Alongside playing at the colligate level, I want to earn my degree in business management with hopes to one day open my own training gym for high school athletes preparing to play at the next level.  Not only in their specific skill and sport but with cardio and weightlifting as well.
