Personal Statement

Growing up, I participated in different sports to discover what I truly enjoyed the most.  Through the years, I played volleyball, basketball, ran track and cross country, while also doing gymnastics and dance.  Later, I even tried being an equestrian.  As I approached middle school, I made the decision to drop everything except team sports.  My vertical jump can be contributed to the years I spent in gymnastics, however. My approach jump is currently 9'6."  Last summer, I worked out several days a week with Steadfast, a facility in Lewisville, Texas to improve speed, agility and vertical jump.  I will continue that throughout the spring and summer next year.  Being part of a team is what I love most about team sports.  I learned about team work during my time at Sky Ranch, a Christian outdoor camp that my sister and I attended every summer.

As a freshman and sophomore, I played six rotations, setter and opposite.  In Club volleyball, last season, I played six rotation outside hitter.  As a junior in high school, I played setter on varsity.  Our team was ranked as high as 10th in the nation and third in the state of Texas in 6A.  In club season, this year, I will be playing up with the top 18's team with Frisco Flyers.  I am playing up so that I can play beach sooner in the spring and summer.  I expect to play setter and opposite during club.

Playing volleyball in college has been my dream and my number one goal for years.  I believe I will be an asset to any team as I am versatile and can play multiple positions.  I also work hard in the classroom.  I look forward to talk with with you.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI am currently taking dual credit classes for US History 1 and II: also, in the spring, I am taking dual credit English 1 and II. This will give me 12 hours of undergraduate credit my Junior year. I plan to take more next year. Our school runs an accelerated block, so I had not had math for 1.5 years due to the way our schedule falls. I am completing Algebra II right now and will take the PSAT or the SAT in the spring. I received the Magnificent Marauder Academic Award for Math last year in Geometry.
  • ActivitiesHigh school varsity volleyball and club volleyball. I also play beach volleyball in the summer. My partner and I recently qualified for Nationals by winning first place at a qualifier for beach at MadSand. We will be playing at Hermosa Beach in July. My club team will be playing at nationals this week. (Phoenix)

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
