My name is Caitlin McGuire. I am a senior at Paschal High School, a 6A school in Fort Worth, TX. I am a Libero/DS on my high school and club team. I am a leader on and off the court, and the captain of my school team for my senior year. I am a very competitive and hardworking player. My school team finished the 2019 season tied for 2nd in our 6A district and went to the first round of the state playoffs. For the 2019-2020 club season, I will again be playing for Fort Worth Fire, on the 18 Purple team.
Academics are very important to me and I want to use my strong academics to hopefully allow me to play in college. As a freshman, I took one AP and four Pre-AP/Honors classes. My final weighted GPA for my freshman year was 4.08. I was in the top 25% of my class of nearly 710 students, and was inducted in the Paschal Society of Academic Promise. My sophomore year, I was enrolled in two A/P and four pre-A/P classes. My weighted GPA for the year was 4.05, and was ranked 145 out of 659. Just finishing my junior year, I was enrolled in three AP and three pre-A/P classes. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and awarded an Academic Sweatshirt by Lockheed Martin and FWISD. This is an award for students who complete their sophomore year with a GPA of 3.8 or higher. My final weighted GPA was 4.1 and I was ranked 149 out of 576 students. For my senior year, I am currently enrolled in four A/P classes.
Outside of volleyball I like to spend time with my family and friends. My family loves sports, and we watch or attend a variety of college or professional sports when we can, especially college football!
I am seeking a defensive specialist position at a university recognized not only for its athletic success, but also for its academic excellence. I am currently interested in nursing or physical therapy and plan to pursue that career path while hopefully playing college volleyball.
