Kat Matthis '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Kathrine, but everybody calls me Kat for short. I have been playing volleyball since I was 12, about 7 years in general now, and I have been playing club for about 4 years. When I first started playing I didn't have much experience coming in nor had I been playing for the same amount of years as some of my other teammates. So my coaches liked that I was willing to learn and was coachable given my lack of experience with the sport.

Throughout my years of playing, I have gained such knowledge about the sport, and I think this is unique to my style of playing because I have such a high volleyball IQ that my movement on the court feels natural yet consistent. I am usually quiet, but when I step out on the court I feel at home and more like myself. I am excited to see where this journey takes me next, and I hope to build my volleyball IQ even more and create some lifelong friendships and memories.
