My name is Kate Charlo, I'm in 11th grade at Henderson High School. I'm a 5'9" pin hitter, but I can also play as a middle blocker. This is the third year on the high school's varsity team where we reached the playoffs each year and finished as Bi District Champs My Goal next year is to go even further into the playoff run and make it to the state finals. I finished the year with a 42% kill percentage, finished 2nd in East Texas Varsity leaders to include all schools from 1A thru 6A with 565 kills. I am on the National team for the 2023-2024 season with Infinity Volleyball Club (IVC). I was elected to 1st Team All District for District 17-4A.The previous year I played for two IVC Teams and attending AAU Nationals in Florida and the USAV Nationals in Chicago. This year my goal is to focus on one team and to go far into the National tournament. While playing club I stayed in for 6 rotations as an outside and left back. I am a competitive and driven player, and always try my hardest to be my teams biggest cheerleader.
My goal in volleyball is not only to play at the highest level possible for me, but to be the best team mate I can be. I am very team oriented, and put the teams needs before my personal needs. My team mates would describe me as a talkative, uplifting player. I take every chance that's given to me to show that I'm coachable, hardworking, and will always try my best to bring what's expected of me.
Education has always been my number one priority. At the end of my freshman year, I finished with a 4.0 GPA after taking all honors classes. I never want to jeopardize my time on the court by being lazy in the classroom. I received two academic awards this past year at the end of my freshman year Volleyball and Golf season. I am interested in the mental health field and becoming a therapist.
