I started playing volleyball when I was eleven years old. I initially got started from an invitation from my dentist who had his own volleyball team. When I started going to tournaments and getting a real feel for the game, I realized that I loved the intensity and competitiveness of the sport and wanted to play beyond high school.
I am a leader on the court by encouraging my teammates during plays and while on the sideline. I hustle to make plays on the court and I make my presence known with the loudness and assertiveness I bring with my voice. I am coachable and encourage my teammates daily. I don't believe in giving up and a team should finish until the very end.
In school, I am a hard working student who was personally affected by COVID-19. COVID-19 made it difficult to focus and concentrate, however, with the support of my family, friends and school coach and staff, I continue to be successful academically. While in college, volunteering continues to be an important aspect of my life.
I am fortunate to be able to continue playing volleyball in which I love while studying nursing. In 2022, I will graduate with an Associate's in Nursing. My goal is to transfer to a 4 year university where I would continue to play volleyball and obtain my Bachelors in Nursing. I aim and strive to make myself and family proud and to become an inspiration to my younger cousins and other girls that want to play volleyball.
