My name is Jurnee Stuckey I am currently attending Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas. I will be graduating in May of 2020. I live with my parents Reginald & Tracy, and my twin brother D’Jimon. I started playing volleyball at the age of 12, and I knew right away that volleyball would be my passion. I have played club volleyball for five years. My dream is to someday earn a college degree and play at the highest level of volleyball. In order to accomplish this goal, I realized earlier that it will take a lot of hard work and dedication. I have learned through my parents’ guidance and by the grace of God anything is possible. I work very hard to excel in the classroom daily. That is the main reason why I have constantly focused on advancing my education while increasing my volleyball skills along with weight room training to achieved this goal I have a busy work schedule working out twice a week doing jump training with my personal coach along with practicing with my club team twice a week which has taught me to manage my time both academically and athletically. I am looking for a school that has a strong academic advisory program that is interested in my academic success. I am a player that is coachable and wants to continually learn to become a better person and volleyball player. One of my strengths is my mental approach to the game. I am very competitive and want to be challenged at the highest level each time I step on the court. I want to gain experience for each match and implement strategies that will not only benefit my performance but help the team win.
As a freshman at Langham I was voted MVP for the season. I played one year on JV and two years on varsity. I have also won numerous accolades competing in AAU Track and Field at district and national levels. I was also a member of the track team in junior high and high school, placing 1st and 2nd in district all four years as a discus and shot-put thrower.
I started at a young age as an Outside Hitter and Middle and now has made a transition to the Defensive Specialist position as I soon realized I was done growing in height. Through my high school years and club experience both on and off the court will help me make a smooth transition to play at the collegiate level. I am a Six Rotation Outside Hitter looking for a program that can showcase all of my abilities and skills. I am very confident in my arm swing strength along with my jumping capabilities I can make an impact in your program immediately. I am flexible to play anywhere on the court at a competitive level. I am very motivated to create the best possible future for myself and have worked extremely hard to set that up.
