Jacqueline Howell '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jacqueline (Jackie) Howell, I am from Mission, Texas. I am an outside and opposite hitter with passing of a defensive specialist. I have been a 2 time team captain for the 5A Mission Veterans Memorial High School Lady Patriots ranking us 4th in the State of Texas. I have recorded over 1500 kills and digs in my four years of varsity play. My senior year I was able to help my team with 728 kills and 595 digs.  I am ranked 4th in the state for hitting percentage and 7th in kills. My goal is to play collegiate volleyball and get a well-rounded education. My best attributes are hard work, discipline, and determination not only on the court but in the classroom. I believe what sets me apart from others is not only my 31 inch vertical, 10' reach approach but that I was born into a family of D1 collegiate volleyball players. My character is based on integrity and selflessness which was instilled into me by the strong independent women in my family that started from humble beginning and competed at the highest levels of volleyball winning a number of national championships. Although, I have volleyball running through my family, I have understood what is takes to be a competitor for a very young age. My love, and passion and drive to be successful will always comes from within. I believe that is something that cannot be taught but born with.
