Audrey Nunes '21 Recruiting Profile

From the age of three I have had a passion to be on a field or court.  Once my older brother began playing sports, I did not want to be left out.  My passion and athletic ability grew as I played select soccer, AAU basketball, middle school sports, and club volleyball. But it was not until my freshman year on the varsity volleyball team that I learned there was something more meaningful than just having the ability and passion to play a sport. Losing by two points in a five set regional playoff volleyball match changed me from just having a passion to reach my athletic goals, to having an ambition to become the best athlete and teammate I could be.

The week after that game, I began my varsity basketball season as starting point guard and worked with my teammates for a spot in the Final Four Tournament. I continued to pursue my athletic ambitions as a sophomore captain on the first State Champion volleyball team in our school's history. My skills and ambition to work hard and have a positive impact on my team also paid off my junior season when we became Back-to-Back State Champions in volleyball! My high school years have revealed to me both the challenges and rewards of commitment, leadership, teamwork and sacrifice.

Through sports I have discovered the most important way to be a leader is by serving others. I strive for excellence both on and off the court and would like to find a program that will help me reach my academic goals of studying graphic design and photography. My strong academic history along with my desire to serve others in my community provide me with the skills necessary to be an asset to my teammates.  I feel these characteristics, my commitment to continue to develop my athletic abilities and leadership skills, as well as my respect for my teammates and my coaches would allow me to make a positive impact on your volleyball program.
