I am from Redwater, Texas, a small town outside of Texarkana. One of our motos at Redwater High School is that "you can be a part of everything." Having a school that encourages you to push yourself in this way has been a wonderful experience. I have had the opportunity to participate in Cheer, Theater, Athletics, NHS, and Key Club. Participating in all of these activities has helped me see that I want to focus on business management while in college. As to whether that is at a small or large school, I am keeping my options open. College is the next step in continuing what Redwater already started teaching me. High School has introduced me to ways in having self-discipline, time management, and people skills, all of which I consider myself pretty good at. I love organizing projects and helping others see a task to completion. I have maintained a 3.81 GPA, won multiple Theater awards, and held several NHS and Key Club officer positions. These are skills that I know I will use in my college career, hopefully on and off the court.
I have always enjoyed playing Volleyball; there is just something about the game. It is very strategic and unpredictable. I believe that to succeed in any game, you must become adept at multiple positions on and off the court. I love playing so much that I never wanted to rotate off out of the game. I knew to accomplish this though, I would have to work on being great at all positions, not just the setter that I was. As a setter, I pushed myself, putting down 244 assist this season alone, averaging 14 per game, and improving my hitting to 4 kills per game. This hard work helped me earn First Team all District and lead my team in assist both my Sophomore and Junior years. Another position that I knew I needed to be strong at was being a team leader. I try to lead by example, staying late for extra practice, keeping a clean social media, and always being there for my teammates. These qualities are traits that I feel people look up to and respect, and that is the kind of person I want others to know I am.
I hope that this helps you to know that I am a serious candidate for your team and if given the opportunity to play for you, I promise to be the asset you need. Thank you for your time.
