I'm an extremely competitive player, playing since I was 9 years old I strive for personal growth and team accomplishments. I love to be pushed to excel on the court as well as to be challenged as a leader. I focus on communicating verbally along with physical cues on court, and I'm continually trying to find effective ways for our team to attack the opponent.
More than anything, I hope to continue my volleyball journey in college. My goals are to align my academic interests with the right program. I want to pursue a degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Kinesiology to be able to apply to Physical Therapy School. Athletically, I'm looking to compete for playing time as a Freshman Setter/DS and eventually earn a starting spot.
What sets me apart and makes me a good candidate for your team are the following:
Athletically - As a Setter, I love defense almost as much as running the offense. I will be a 4 year Varsity player at Sachse High School, and I love representing my school and being able to compete at an extremely high level in Texas' 6A Division. The Sachse Mustangs finished 43-8 in 2019 and we were Regional Quarter-finalists in 6A. My main contribution was being a team captain and 1,514 assists on the season ( a new single-season record at Sachse). I'm currently ranked 56 out of 648 in my class, and I 'm focusing on AP and Honors courses. Being a part of Coach Jones' program at Sachse has prepared me in many ways to remain focused on academics and athletics.
Character - I've been involved in service organizations outside volleyball (such as National Charity League) and I've been fortunate to be able to attend Kanakuk (a faith-based athletic camp in Missouri) each summer since I was 8 years old. This is where my "I'm Third" focus comes from; serving God first, Others second, and Myself third. I'm inspired by my faith and try to lead by example.
Academics - I participate in HOSA, NHS, and I serve as a Class Officer for the SHS Class of '21. I earned Academic All-District honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019. I enjoy being with my team mates and friends and I have a heart to serve others. I have an intentional focus to learn and improve personally and I'm always seeking to help my team to improve and achieve our goals.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can share about myself and I welcome the opportunity to continue a dialogue about my interests; especially volleyball, my academic pursuits, and my interests in college and beyond.
