This year, I was ecstatic to make my school's varsity volleyball team as the only freshman. I had been playing volleyball for four years, and I had proven to my coaches that I was ready for the challenge. At the start, however, I was nervous to make a mistake around the other upperclassmen. As the season passed, that fear slowly faded, and I grew more confident while maintaining good grades and earning academic all-district. The confidence and courage I acquired to take risks in practice transferred to my club season, where I am starting setter, team captain, and I play all-around.
The one thing I put above volleyball is my grades, which is why I am looking to play for an academically challenging school. I have a huge passion for animals and biology, and I know I would like to work in the medical field in the future. I am currently considering biomedical science or biomedical engineering as a major. As a college player, I hope to make a positive impact on my team and contribute to a successful season.
