Madeline Martinez '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maddie Martinez and I'm going into my Junior year of high school. I've been playing club volleyball since I was 11 years old. I was always the Middle Blocker until around age 14 when everyone grew up faster than me! I transitioned to Outside Hitter and now I'm transitioning to back row! I know most colleges look for height but I'm a great utility/all-around player. I'm 5'6" and now have experience in multiple positions. 

I am not 100% positive what major I want yet but most likely something related to animals/marine biology or maybe even nursing. Both of my parents are Army veterans and for years our whole family has volunteered with Team Red, White and Blue. The group encourages veterans to connect with others in society upon getting out of the military. We feed the homeless on Thanksgiving, we have run an aid station for the Ironman Texas race each year and overall just encourage veterans to not isolate when they get out.  

I may not be the tallest but I'm versatile and full of heart.
