My name is Corie Bornholdt. I grew up in Elk Ridge, UT. I have had a passion for volleyball since grade school and started playing at the age of 11. My dad took me to a high school volleyball match and I fell in love with the sport. I knew I had to play it for myself. I currently play for Aces Athletics Volleyball Club and have also played for Club Utah. I started playing for Salem Hills High School Volleyball when I was in 8th grade. I am currently a junior and have gone to the State Finals with my high school team the past two years. This year I was named to the All Region Volleyball Team Honorable Mention.
I have a 4.0 GPA and am currently enrolled in 2 AP courses. I plan to qualify for the Regents scholarship. In the future I would like to continue to achieve academic excellence and use my education to help others. I am a member of the National Honor Society and am currently the secretary of a service club at my school as well as a class representative for my seminary program. I want to attend a college with a volleyball team that will provide me with the tools to improve my skills and become the best player I can be. Volleyball has become an outlet for me. It's a time where I don't have to worry about anything else and I can relieve my stress. I can't imagine not playing it for the next four years. This will ideally come from excellent coaching focused on the deeper strategy of the game. I want to contribute significantly to a team as well as gain a quality education as I pursue a degree in Exercise Science.
I am active in my church organization and spend some of my spare time helping others through YouTube tutorials. I am very close to my family and appreciate any down time I have with them. I also enjoy attending sporting events, reading, and watching old movies.
I have found a medium through YouTube where I have been able to share my interest in beauty, fashion, and hygiene tips and touch other peoples lives in a positive forum. I have become fairly proficient at filming and editing video and I use this ability to teach other people new skills and, as a result, boost their self esteem. This is an outlet for me that is quite different from my volleyball life. Since starting my YouTube channel, I have also become a freelance makeup artist. This has created diversity for me and I feel it has contributed to building my character. It is very fulfilling to me to share my talents and know that it makes other people feel good.
