Being a part of numerous types of sports teams has taught me so much about who I am through all the unique challenges that I have had to face. Starting sports at a very young age I have always been extremely competitive in everything I do, from regular games to big tournaments with my teams, I hate the idea of losing and not performing at my best. In the years that I have played, the most difficult experiences I had in sports were during my sophomore and junior years where I tore my ACLs and meniscuses during basketball games. From these challenging experiences I learned how to help lead and encourage my team from off of the court so that when I was able to step back on I could be an even better teammate and leader to my teammates. I also gained a much deeper understanding of the game by just being able to watch it. Being closely connected with the coaches helped me to become a better player. My level of commitment to my teammates and coaches became greater because I realized how important it was for me to be there to show my support and dedication to them through it all. These injuries also helped me personally to grow in my understanding of myself. And strive to be the best I can be while not giving up on my dreams.
I'm looking for a college program that will both push me academically and athletically so that I can strive to achieve the long term goals that I have set. I believe that I would be an excellent fit for any program because I am a natural-born leader, a very encouraging teammate, I strive for perfection and I am a dedicated, hardworking student and athlete. I have the patience and perseverance to overcome the challenges life brings my way. With all of these attributes I believe I will be a great benefit to any team.
