Amber Bailey '12 Recruiting Profile

As a volleyball player and student, teamwork and leadership is very important. When I become captain of a team or a project it means that people look up to me for advice and assurance. You are in control and get things done. I have been a volleyball player for four years and since then I have worked harder to become a better player and student. This sport has helped me stay motivated.
I want to go to a smaller college because of the better student teacher ratio that would allow a professor to know my name and not just be a number. I also would like to stay in a Division 2 or 3 Virginia school. This will allow me to balance my focus on my career choice and volleyball. It would also allow me to be near my family still. I love volleyball very much, but I beilieve that my desire and future to help special needs children is just as important. I would prefer  a Christian college because of its morals and I won't be surrounded by parties and other distractions. Also many private schools have my desired major in Special Education. I want to be a teacher and have complete passion for it and want to make a difference. I think it would mean so much more to make a difference in a special needs child's life.
My athletic goals are to make a team in college and make the team stronger and better. If they only win 4 games the last year I want to help them win 6.  Also I want to be a setter on any team I make. I love setting but any postition is great as long as I can play on a team. Also as long as I am playing volleyball I am happy and content.
