Volleyball is one of the most important things in my life. Not only have I met amazing people, but I have also learned important life skills and have learned so much about myself on and off the court. My love for volleyball started in fifth grade, but through the years it has only continued to grow stronger. Volleyball is an aspect of my life that I am so grateful for, as it has impacted me so much - from the relationships I have with the girls on my team and coaches to my health. I always try my hardest in both practice and in games, and along with playing the best to my abilities, being a positive force for my teammates is something I focus on every time I am out on the court. I especially enjoy the opportunity to take a leadership role on my teams; I was a captain of my high school team this year as a freshman and was awarded MVP and Second Team All-Conference.
Alongside volleyball, academics is also very important to me. I am currently enrolled at Wakefield School, a college preparatory school in The Plains, Virginia. My aspirations to excel in academics have been with me throughout my childhood, and I will forever apply the determination and drive I have learned through volleyball to school. It has been challenging to balance volleyball and school and maintain excellence in both because of the high academic rigor and my strong commitment to the sport and my team, but because of this I have learned time-management and strength. I believe that because of this challenge it will help me be able to play volleyball in college and still maintain academic excellence. I am so grateful for volleyball and the amazing ways it has shaped me, and my dream is to continue my volleyball career in college.
