Being a state finalist during my sophomore and junior year of high school has been the highlight of my career so far. I feel like I grew the most that year as there was a change in who our head coach was, which was made a day before our first game of the season. During my freshman year, my old coach was constantly telling us that we weren't good enough and we will never beat the best teams. When we got a new coach, I was given a leadership position on the court and I loved it. My new coach had faith in me and the rest of my team, which really gave me the confidence that I needed. We continued to exceed people's expectations and make it to the state championships for the first time in 8 years!
My interest in volleyball started at a very young age and grew much bigger over the years. My mom and sister played volleyball too and I decided to follow in their footsteps, which was the best decision that I have ever made. An obstacle that I have been faced with for many years is my height. I am much shorter than an average volleyball player. This has motivated me to not only improve my skills on the court, but my leadership and work ethic skills as well. I love competition, whether it's during a game or just at practice. My goal is to graduate high school with an advanced diploma and go to a 4-year college.
