My volleyball journey started when I was in 5th grade but really became a big part of my life when I was a freshman in high school when I made the varsity team. Without making varsity as a freshman I wouldn’t have had the amazing opportunities that I have right now. Since I was a freshman I have been traveling a 4 hour round trip 2 times a week for 6 months to go play volleyball on a national club team in Yakima WA to better myself as a player and a leader. All of this couldn’t have been done without the support of my family, which I am eternally grateful for.
I want to play volleyball in college because I feel like I’m not done playing yet. Quite simply I love the sport! Being part of a team is something that I really love. For me one the best parts of volleyball is when someone gets a kill and the energy on the court is really big.
One of my strengths is to be the best possible teammate I can be. I am proud to be nominated as a 2023 JVA Athleader and Athlete of Character nominee at Goldendale HS, both nominations came from my coaches. Some of my other strengths are going all out for every ball and having a strong work ethic whether it’s working on my vertical in the off season, improving my skills with training, watching film to get better, or taking care of myself.
My academics and drive for achievement are very important to me. I am a 4.0 student. In addition I am the secretary for National Honor Society at Goldendale HS and have been the Chairman of Leadership in FFA in 2022-2023. I hold the 4th longest javelin throw at Goldendale HS earning 12th place at the state 2023 track meet. I have also earned first place at the FFA State Agriscience Fair Competition in Plant Systems Division 4.
