"The difference between the possible and impossible lies in the person's determination" -unknown
I am determined. I am determined to be the best student-athlete, teammate and leader that I can be on and off the court. Volleyball became my passion in sixth grade and I have never looked back. Every time I step on the court I give it my all. I am all about WE. My positive attitude and competitive spirit are an inspiration to my teammates. I always have a smile on my face no matter the situation and I have a calming effect when on the court. I take pride that my teammates look up to me as it pushes me to be my best. I feel very fortunate and am so thankful to my parents that I attend The Overlake School in Redmond, WA. Overlake is a private college preparatory school with approximately 533 students grades 5-12. I have been a member of the Overlake community since fifth grade. Overlake has been an amazing environment to learn and grow as a student-athlete. I have learned that my education comes first and my reward is volleyball. Being a student-athlete as taught me to take care of my body and mind and to stay focused on my long term goal: to further my education at a college where I can play volleyball. As a freshman this year I was a starter on Varsity. I contributed to my teams successful season as we made Overlake volleyball history by earning its first Emerald City League championship and went on to play in the state tournament at the SunDome in Yakima, WA. I was given the Team Spirit Award voted on by my coaches and at state I had 7 aces, 17 kills and 22 digs. I am currently finishing up my fourth year playing club. The past three years I have had the privilege to play for Sudden Impact a club in Bellevue, WA. I continue to master my gold medal squared skills and look forward to finishing my club years with Sudden Impact. This summer I am exploring my new found interest in beach volleyball. I'm looking forward to training in the sand with Dakine Summer Beach Club, as it will help get me ready for my sophomore year. I am determined to make my dream of being a student-athlete in college come true. What sets me apart from other recruits is my positive attitude, my contagious smile (ask any of my coaches or teammates) and my work ethic academically and on the court. I look forward to playing the game I love at the high school level for the next three years while finding my perfect college match to fulfill my dream! Thank you for taking the time to learn about me!
