Personal Statement

My name is Lucy, and I am passionate about pursuing my academic and athletic career at the collegiate level. Volleyball has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. Not only has it developed my physical strength and skills, but it has also shaped my character and instilled in me valuable life lessons. The discipline, resilience, and teamwork I’ve honed on the court are traits that I apply to my studies and everyday life.

As a Right Side for Mukwonago High School, I’ve had the privilege of competing in high-stakes matches and leading my team through both victories and challenges. My ability to read the game, communicate effectively with my teammates, and stay composed under pressure has made me a reliable player and a leader on and off the court. I pride myself on my work ethic, pushing myself to improve my game with every practice and match. I also value feedback and am always looking for ways to contribute to the team’s success.

Academically, I strive for excellence just as I do in volleyball. I am interested in pursuing a Business Degree, and I believe that my dedication to both sports and academics will allow me to thrive in a college environment. Balancing the demands of rigorous academic work with the intensity of competitive athletics has taught me time management and perseverance, both of which I am eager to bring to your program.

What excites me about the opportunity to play college volleyball is the chance to compete at a higher level, represent my school with pride, and continue to grow as both an athlete and a student. I am confident that with my strong work ethic, passion for the game, and commitment to success, I would be a valuable addition to your volleyball program. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team and achieving great things together.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Lucy Sarna

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
