Malia Winchel '23 Recruiting Profile

This is my fifth year playing volleyball and each year has increased my passion for the game!  This will be my third year playing club at Wisconsin Juniors having accepted a 17-1 offer for the upcoming season. I am currently a junior at Oak Creek High School (D1).  The fall season was a success with our team qualifying for the state tourney, losing to the eventual champion in the quarterfinal.  I primarily played DS and Libero throughout the season. I can also hold my own playing outside to help my team and even started at setter at our sectional semifinal due to our starter out with an injury. 

My teammates would describe me as a leader on and off the court and also as a fierce competitor who hates losing more than enjoys winning ;) This is just my third year playing back row so I have lots of upside as a DS/L. I play with tremendous tempo and feel like I can dig out any hit or run down any ball off schedule.
