Personal Statement

It was 4th grade that I first started playing volleyball.  From the first time I stepped on the court I dreamed of playing at the college level some day.  I know the path to play at that level will be challenging, but it will also be an amazing rewarding experience that each season I look forward to.

Whether I am on or off the court I always try to lead by example.  I encourage my teammates and my classmates along the way.  I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players.  I want to learn as much as I can so that I am always improving my game.  This trait also applies to my academic studies, being self-motivated and persevering have helped me be successful in the classroom.

Maintaining a GPA of 4.0 has been important to me, but I also have another side that enjoys community service work.  The balance has helped to round me into the person I am continuing to evolve into.  Over the past three years I have enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul, and Green Bay Community Homeless Shelter.  It’s important to help on the court as well as off the court.

My goal is to attend college after high school.  I will be looking for a university that is strong in both academics and athletics.  Someone who inspires me is my father, Todd Bruss.  He always gives 110% effort whether it be with our family, in his medical career, or athletic training.  Continual encouragement is given to me to take on new challenges.  His well-roundedness inspires me to be the best version of myself.

Thank you for reading my personal statement and I hope to hear from you soon!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
