I have found two areas in my life that i am really passionate about; sports and medicine. I am hoping to plan for my college career and future life goals in ways that can marry these two interests together.
I am a life long sports enthusiast. My grandfather has been coaching girls softball since before i was born and instilled a love of sports and competition within me. While i play softball, volleyball has become my first love. My older sister played in 8th grade and i went to her matches and fell in love with it. While my freshman year season was interesting as it was smack in the middle of COVID and we ended up playing in the spring, it helped me learn how to adapt to life's challenges and roll with the punches. It also gave me something to look forward to when most of my life was still online and remote, which only reinforced my love of the game.
My love of medicine started when i was little and spending time with my Nana who was a nurse. She watched me one day a week, before i started regular school, and used to let me play with her stethoscope and listen to my Papa's heartbeat. This experience was soo interesting and made me want to learn more. Through my high school career i have taken a lot of science and medical classes, and the more i learn, the more interesting it becomes.
During my past sports season, i had an minor injury which lead me to visit to the UW Sports Medicine clinic in Madison, WI. This is the first time i learned that i could do something with my life that would combine both my interests.
