I have been playing volleyball for seven years now and it has played a major role in my life. Volleyball has taught me how to handle stressful and tough situations along with how to work hard and be a leader. One of my biggest achievements during my volleyball career so far is when my high school team, Waunakee, went to state. We worked hard all season long to get to our goal and eventually we made it. Unfortunately, we lost in the first round of state. This was an awful feeling, but it taught me how to deal with hard losses and it also made me want to work even harder so we can get further in state next year.
Volleyball has really helped me gain confidence with leadership throughout the years. I love to help and guide others to learn the skill or idea that they want. Also, I am a good listener and try to be there for people if they are upset or need advice to get through a difficult situation. Volleyball has also helped me get used to doing things that is outside of my comfort zone. This is very important because if you never push your boundaries, then you will never grow as a person or develop any new characteristics and experiences.
