My name is Kriya Vohra and I’m aspiring to be a collegiate water polo player at a Division 1 University. I’m presently a Junior at Southpointe Academy in Vancouver, Canada and also a member of the Fraser Valley Water Polo Club & Vanguard Aquatics.
I’m a lefty who believes no one should be left out. I’m a focused, goal oriented person who feels my best qualities emerge when I work cooperatively with others towards a common goal. I would describe myself as a life long learner who is always trying to improve my grades or skills in the water by absorbing the qualities of my peers who are more knowledgable. Success in sports and studies are an important motivation for me and this means I’ve evolved to be goal-centric and not self-centric. I am willing to assume different roles and responsibilities in order to achieve the end goal. I came to water polo in my Sophomore year and fell in love with the sport. Waterpolo has taught me to manage my time efficiently, and to be more selective with my social life in order to better myself as a student athlete. My goal is to combine my two greatest passions, competitive water polo and the study of medical sciences, in a stimulating University environment.
