My name is Lily Hartley, and I'm in the class of 2023 at Burlingame High School. I've played water polo for six years, and I'm a utility, but I'm primarily an attacker. I've started varsity for Burlingame for the past three years, and this past season I was nominated as captain. I play club at Northern California Aquatics on their 18u team.
Water Polo has taught me humility, work ethic, and confidence in and out of the water. I would describe myself as outgoing, communicative, and confident. I enjoy being in leadership positions, and this past season as captain has taught me many values as a leader, and I improved not only as a water polo player but also as a person.
My mom was a student-athlete throughout her youth, and her beliefs about being a dedicated student-athlete have passed down to me. Although I believe in a total commitment to the team, my academics come first. I am looking for a school that can allow me to play collegiate-level water polo, but also give me a higher level of education.

- ActivitiesI'm a Soprano 2 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir. I have the highest music theory medal (Yellow Medal) in RSCM, which took me several years to earn. In 2017, my choir had a residency at Gloucester Cathedral in Gloucester, where we had multiple performances throughout the week. This summer, my choir plans on going to Wells Cathedral in England, where we will attend our second residency. Along with choir, I'm Co-President of Panthers Against Sexual Violence (PASV), a club that provides education and awareness to the Burlingame High School community on sexual violence. I started this club when I took notice of the shocking amount of sexual harassment and assault cases in our school community. The club's goal is to educate the student body on sexual violence issues, spread awareness on sexual violence in our community, and raise money for organizations that support survivors of sexual violence.
