I am a hard worker who knows how to cope with difficult situations. By hard I mean, last year, twice a week I‘d do added strength training at 5:45am, before school started. Meghan Paschall, (current RB boys coach, my old ODP coach and now she is my life coach/mentor) would train me those mornings. Last summer, I had my high school summer league wp practice from 12-2p with 2 games back to back on Tuesday , after practice. In the evenings from 6-9pm, we’re the more rigorous club team practices, sometimes from 8:30-10:30. The reason I chose to do extra strength training, which I’ve done all year before my class day began, is because I wanted to be ready for the 18a team. Last year I was put on the 16b team with total strangers. My best friends had quit once they were put on the b team, but I knew I would have more playing time and would be a better leader for it, plus I am not a quitter. These set backs happen but they don't define me. I am a proud Native American. I am probably the only female Pima member of my tribe who plays this amazing sport of water polo. The opportunity to play fell into my lap when I was around 8 and I am grateful for it. I want to see more diversity in this sport, especially at the club level. Then there will be more females like me who want to go to college, get a great education and play their favorite sport. Given these strange times, quarantining makes it hard for universities to see my talent. Trust me when I tell you that I am continuing to work hard to improve my body and mind. Currently, I’m studying for the ACT, working out in the back yard, teaching myself the bass guitar, playing video games, learning how to surf from my brother, riding my bike, and walking my dog. Lastly, I am interning with a music management company because I want to learn all about the music business and hopefully that can be my major. When looking for a school, I am hoping to find the perfect University that is ready for a smart level headed unique girl, that is not interested in drama, only a great team with fantastic academic opportunities. Contact me if you have any questions. I love my family but I’d really love to talk to somebody new about the future of collegiate water polo and life. Take care and be safe.
