My name is Claire Cassidy and water polo is my passion. I have played soccer, basketball, volleyball, and have swam all my life. Swimming has always been a significant part of my life, as I have always loved the sport and community. I have been on swim team since I was four years old and spent all of growing up in the water. Starting water polo was the perfect way to combine all of the sports I enjoyed with my love for swimming. From my first day of playing, I knew it was going to be a sport I wanted to continue. Since that day in 7th grade I have worked hard every day to get to the point I am at today and I hope to be able to continue that hard work beyond high school and into college. I am currently a sophomore at Marin Catholic High School. As a freshman we did not have a normal season due to Covid, but our team was able to use that as a growth experience for this season. This season we started off our first couple of games with a few losses and room to improve, but in the end our team came together and clicked, bringing us to severa wins and taking us into the NCS DII finals, where we lost in the third quarter of overtime to Carondelet! Our team and each of us individually came together and improved tremendously. I am excited to see where next year takes our young and growing team. I am a hardworking leader on and off of the pool deck and have been able to balance water polo with academics and other extracurriculars including service, student council, retreat leadership, clubs, and more! I look forward to continuing my water polo and academic career.
