Tatiana Smeltzer #6 Personal Statement
I was inspired to play Water Polo when I was in 6th grade, because of my older sisters, Marina and Erika. I started practicing over the summer with the high school team and going to tournaments with them. I am in the leadership class at school and am in all honors classes. I have volunteered over 20 hours of coaching local middle school girls water polo teams. My freshman year I was awarded 2nd team All-League and 1st team All-CIF for Division 6. I have been on the varsity high school swim team since freshman year, and plan on swimming through my senior year. I am dedicated and enthusiastic about my career in water polo and hope to attend a Division 1 college after graduation. My whole life I have successfully been able to balance my school work and my water polo career , and hope to do so in the future.
