Winning the Nick Johnston Inspiration Award is probably one of my biggest accomplishments in my water polo career. Ever since I was 7 years old and started playing the sport, connections with my teammates and the bond between us has always been my focus. I think building a supportive team environment and mentality is the most important thing to help a team succeed and prosper. I don't just carry these ideas outside the pool but also in the pool by focusing on defense and setting up plays for teammates with precision passing and seeing the whole pool.
Water Polo has been one of my main focuses throughout my life. I have accumulated a wide range of skills due to my exposure to different programs and coaching styles. On my club team, because I have a diverse skill set, I am a utility player and on my high school team, my main position is hole set. I also play center defender and a driver when needed for both teams.
My goal is to find a college team and campus that has a supportive mentality and environment. My focus on the camaraderie and mind set of my team ties in with my interest in studying psychology or biology in college. I want to be able to bring my classroom knowledge into the pool to help elevate my and my teammates overall performance.
I am looking forward to learning how to play at a collegiate level and being a contributing member of a college team.
