Athena Campos '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Athena Campos, I'm currently a Senior at Taft Union High school. I currently play water polo for a club team and have played for the last three years. I've had the joy of going to Junior Olympics with these clubs in 2019, 2021, and placing 3rd in Bronze in 2022. Water polo has played a big role in my life since I started, It changed my routines, schedules, and mindset in the most positive ways. I have played with Bakersfield Waterpolo Club, Praetorian Waterpolo Club, & Kern Premier Waterpolo Club. Taft Union High school does not have a water polo team therefore all my experience has been with clubs including swimming with a club team since I was 5. I am highly committed to this sport, I travel one hour up to two and a half hours just to go to water polo practices and play year-round. At Taft Union High school I have been a member of the swim team all three years and plan on swimming my senior year for water polo conditioning. I’m an aggressive player, and very competitive, I strive to be the best player for not only myself but most importantly for my team. I am very coachable, open to constructive criticism, etc. I have learned so much from teammates and coaches which has helped me strengthen my skills. I always train with a positive attitude and an open mindset. I will be a confident and hardworking asset to your team.
