These past years of playing water polo have been extremely influential on my life. I started in the pool at age four, with competitive swimming. When I was ten, I was introduced to water polo. I fell in love with the sport. The strategical nature of the game caters to my academic strengths of math and science. Not only does water polo stress my academics, but it also brings out my leadership capabilities as well. As a goalie, I have to help the field players, with most notably defense. By leading and communicating in the pool, I help the field players excel.
In the pool, I have taken a step further in my water polo career. Recently, a new club has opened near me, I get to play in the teenage programs, and on the younger side, I take pride in helping coach. The main age group I've been blessed with is the 10 and under age group. This allows me to teach the fundamentals, keeping my knowledge sharp as well.
As a student, I place a strong emphasis on academics. I have been and am currently enrolled in honors and AP classes. Personally, school is highly important to me. My strong subjects are science and math, although I do well in all subjects. The student and athlete in me never give up. Whether I am trying to best a test score, or I am working on my five meter block; I am a hard worker, and place a great deal of importance on trying my best. As an athlete, I am invested in playing collegiate water polo. I want to further my skill and love for the sport in college.
