I first stepped onto a water polo deck as a toddler while my father was coaching at a local high school. After years of sitting on the sidelines watching him coach, I began my own water polo career in junior high. From the moment I entered the water at that first clinic, I fell in love with the sport.
I am a four-year varsity starter at River City High School and a current starter on the American River Water Polo Club team coached by former Olympian Heather Moody. The past three high school seasons I have helped lead my team to our conference championship game, and a birth into the CIF tournament. This past season, we won the Metropolitan League Championship and made program history by advancing to the quarterfinals of the Sac-Joaquin D1 Section Championships.
In just my second season playing the 2-meter position, I was able to lead our team and conference in goals, setting a program record with 107 goals scored. With that total, I was ranked as one of the top 10 leading scorers in California and one of the top assist leaders in the Sac-Joaquin D1 Section. Voted to the Metro League First Team All-Conference in 2021, 2022, and 2023 this year the coaches of our league also named me the 2024 League MVP. Despite, these personal accomplishments, I am most proud of helping grow the River City High School water polo program and getting to spend the last two seasons playing with my younger sister.
Both in and out of the water, I'm consistently striving to improve my game IQ, conditioning and knowledge of the overall game. Being forced to switch positions from attacker to 2-meters has dramatically altered my vision of the game, and added a new set of tools to my toolchest. This past season taught me a great deal about the importance of setting goals and then setting myself to the task of achieving those goals. As a player, I believe my greatest strengths are my adaptability, perseverance, and sense of humor.
My ultimate goal is to advance my playing career to the collegiate level.
