Jenna Nelson '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jenna Nelson and I am a Sophomore in the Honors College at Miami Dade, in Miami, Florida. I am scheduled to graduate in May of 2022 and am in the process of applying to transfer schools. I am very interested in institutions that offer strong academic programs in business as well as opportunities to play water polo.

In high school, I was captain of my water polo team from sophomore to senior year. While captain, I was an asset to leading the team for the first time in 10 years, to district runner-ups. I have been playing water polo with Miami Riptides, coaches by Carroll Vaughn, since 2017 and have a huge passion for it. Playing with Miami Riptides, I traveled to California for Junior Olympics in July 2018 and July 2019 but unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, we were unable to travel in July 2020.

Over the past two years of my college education, I have shown a level of commitment and dedication to water polo despite the lack of tournaments that have been available. As a coachable athlete, I have developed a passion and appreciation for the dedication that comes with water polo, and believe that coachability is what makes a good team.
