It is my intent to attend college to complete a 4 year degree that focuses on Exercise Science. My second goal is to play water polo at the college level. I am a dedicated and driven person who is passionate about this sport. I was given the opportunity to join the local high school water polo club at 12 years old. Initially this was a co-ed team but by my freshman year I was competing with an all girls team. It was very exciting to be part of the new women’s program which has gone on to win High School State in ’19, ’20 and ’22.
In college I am open to joining a well developed program as well as one that is just taking off. Though I would ideally like to play Division 1, what is very important to me is finding a coach that will guide and push me to become a better player. I will be a positive addition to any team as I am knowledgable about the game and capable of playing numerous positions. Although the past 2 years has impacted my teams ability to widely compete because of Covid restrictions I am grateful to have a Coach that advocated for us to continue practice along with the support of the Coeur d’Alene KROC center.
Incidentally I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 5. With my parents support I continued on in sports. I believe that perservering and learning to manage my health changed how I approach life. T1D does not hold me back, in fact, it makes me stronger in my determination to achieve my goals and dreams. I am outgoing, uplifting and positive. I take feedback and constructive criticism well from my coaches and teachers. I've been playing sports for as long as I can remember and I do not see a time in my future where I won’t be competing in athletics.
