Personal Statement
I have always aspired to play water polo at a collegiate level since I first hopped in the pool. I have been and will always continue to work to the best of my ability to achieve this goal. I constantly strive to improve as I understand there is always something to work on or learn. I have been playing water polo since I was 10 years old (year six,) after moving up from playing 3 years of flippaball (age 7-9.) I play for a club team called Hibiscus Coast Water Polo, where I am in the U14 A team and the U16 A team, and I am in my school junior (year 9 + 10) team who came third at a Kap7 tournament, as well as been chosen to play in my school premier (senior) team. While water polo has been a big focus in my life, my school work has always been a top priority to maintain a high average. I have passed all my exams for this year with high merits and excellences (which are the equivalent or b+, A, and A+.) I have always been able to juggle my commitment to completing my school work on time and playing of water polo. As well as waterpolo, I am actively involved in other sports such as lacrosse, orienteering, and multi sport. Outside of sports, I am involved in a group called Future Problem Solving, where I recently got 3rd place at the Nationals in my age group. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in both the pool and the classroom. I believe in always giving my all, leaving everything in the pool, playing wholeheartedly with all the capability I have, and to never giving up no matter the circumstances. I am a team player who enjoys lifting up others, and being in a team with players who look after one another, supporting each other in and out of the pool. I promise to always be hardworking, to persevere, and I will be willing to improve, as well as perform, to the best of my ability.
