I am a two sport athlete with water polo and swimming. Through both sports, I have had an opportunity to grow and learn a lot about myself which has been both rewarding and exciting. I aspire to attend a college that allows me to continue performing both in the water and in the classroom. By nature, I am competitive, have strong endurance and a high water polo IQ. My goal is to be the hardest working player on the team. In addition to working hard in the water, I am very focused on my studies and maintain a high GPA.
I started playing water polo when I was fourteen, the summer before my freshman year in high school, and I started swimming competitively when I was seven years old.
With both of my sports being so different, one is team oriented, and one is individual, each one has taught me lessons that have helped me in the pool and in life. With water polo, I love the team environment, everyone working for the same end goal, developing trust with my teammates, and feeling the energy and comradery. Swimming, as an individual team sport, has helped me understand how to focus on the details, critique and analyze how to make improvements, and feel confident that I put 200% into each race.
With both sports being so different, it has allowed me to work with many different types of people and personalities. This exposure has been invaluable, it has taught me to have a strong work ethic, how to work with and respect my teammates and how lead in a high-performance environment.
I am so excited for the next chapter of my life, to go to college, continue learning and developing as an athlete.
